Paranthamen started his schooling in SingaramPillai Matriculation Higher secondary school in Villivakkam and later went to Jaya Matriculation Hight secondary school in Thirunindravur. He passed out in 1994 and enrolled for graduation in Dr. Amedhkar Government Law college, Madras. He completed his graduation in Law in the year 1999. He was the First generation graduate in his family.
He started practicing law as a Junior advocate to Adv. G Nagarajan in Madras High court since 1999. His area of specialization was Writ Jurisdiction, Civil original & Appellate Jurisdiction, Criminal Appeal Jurisdiction in High court, Madras.
Between the year 2000 – 2005, Paranthamen had filed Many Public Interest Litigation cases. Some of the most noteworthy cases were.
• Filed a Public interest litigation case against the Removal of kannagi statue at marina beach.
• Writ petition was filed to build necessary classrooms considering the safety of the students in Tiruvallur town municipality primary school as there were no classrooms, which was noticed by him at a first glance.
• Writ Petition filed to include the names of approximately 940 government employees in Lloyds colony, Triplicane that was mass deleted from the electoral roll.
Paranthamen participated in a lot of Oratorical competitions, Pattimandrams and inter school competitions during his school and college days. He possessed a huge command in his language right from his childhood, rightly identified by his Maternal Uncle at the young age. During his college days, he solely represented the entire Law colleges in Tamilnadu in oratorical competition at the 8th Tamil world conference held at Tanjore. He spoke on “Tamizhaal iyalum” and won a shield from the then Chief minister of Tamilnadu. Apart from his great passion towards Politics, his interests are reading books and travelling to hill stations. His favourite books are Nenjukku neethi written by Kalaingar Karunanidhi and the History of DMK written by Su Thirunavukarassar.
